Bussemaker and Koenders join forces to fight FMG/C

They are holding the conference ‘Uniting Europe and Africa to fight Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting’ in The Hague on 25 November.

The United Nations Population Fund has presented Minister for Development Cooperation Bert Koenders with the 2009 State of World Population Report. This year’s edition of the annual report deals with women, population growth and the climate.

Verhagen calls for committee of experts on tackling terrorism

Foreign minister Maxime Verhagen has called for a committee of independent experts to draw up plans for a better legal approach to ending impunity for terrorists. This ‘Committee of Wise Persons’ would make recommendations on ways of strengthening international law.
