International Cultural Policy
International cultural policy is an integral part of foreign policy. It focuses on international cultural exchange, common cultural heritage, and culture and development.
The Minister of Education, Culture and Science and the Minister of Foreign Affairs are jointly responsible for international cultural policy. Culture and development is the responsibility of the Minister for European Affairs and International Cooperation. The Dutch embassies and consulates-general abroad play an encouraging and supporting role in setting up and promoting cultural exchange. International cultural policy is implemented through various funds, sectoral institutions and the Centre for International Cultural Activities (SICA).
